Song for... is from the 2920 Sessions, If I Could Play Jazz, featuring vocalist Joshua Lucero. Joshua is a UTEP student and a student of opera. It was great to work with him. I have always loved this song and I am very happy to have finally recorded it. Next stop at the station is ā€˜Song for ā€¦ā€™ with vocals by Joshua Lucero, an opera student at the University of Texas at El Paso. This intricate pattern reminds me of riding my bicycle through the streets of my little town of Nedrow, NY when I was a teenager. All alone, racing with the wind pushing through my hair - not a care in the world. Lyrically, naturally, it is about love. A first recognition of being loved by someone your age, and the hope that your brief encounter will be everlasting. I play a Fender P-bass, Guild D40-C single cut-away acoustic guitar, Yamaha P 125 piano, Unisynth electronic guitar fed into a Yamaha TX 81Z. Recorded on a Tascam Portastudio DP-24SD.

She tells me that she loves me, says she wants to be mine
She says that she will wait for me, while I go out to find
She says that she wishes, I were nicer to her
It's not hard to believe her, I can see it in her eyes
You.....truly do love me
Nobody else has ever tried
You.....truly do love me
Nobody else has ever taken the time
Maybe someday soon, we can spend some time together
Maybe someday real soon, we can go away together
