The Cryin' Cat Blues lyrics were written in 1976 when I was just a baby boy. The music was created for this project. The concept was to create a beatnik, hippie type beat - cool and relaxed. Maybe musically off a bit. The bass plays lazy half-steps that don't quite fit in. Again Ruben Gutierrez adds the dynamic piano. You can view this video on YouTube by searching for, Park North JRM.

There’s a cat crying out my window
The noise of the traffic is steady
The dogs bark below and aside
The blue light shows shadows
as I sit clean of wrap

and I think to myself
as I sing to myself
as I rode by myself
past your house
So late the moonlight
So free I feel
I’ve never felt
