This is the final installment of The Avocado Sessions. Part One is all band material, mostly featuring the harmonica work of Tom Townsley. Part Two featured blues fingerpicking and some slide guitar work. Part Three features more fingerpicking and a mix of polished recordings and more raw recordings. It’s real stuff. Tracks 1 and 4 feature El Paso bassist Curt Bushaw and percussionist JoDavid Reyes. Everything else is just me, my guitar, and some vocals. There are a couple of instrumentals tossed in. Some tunes are kind of sloppy-sounding, but that’s because I was just a kid and they were hard to play. It is hard to date the instrumentals because I have to memorize them since I do not know how to write music. And therefore they are not in my songbooks. I’m fortunate I have recordings of them. I dug way down through the files to find a few of these little gems. Are they important? Yes, sort of.
